      Ouro Preto, in the state of Minas Gerais, is famous for its colonial architecture. It was the first city in Brazil to be declared a "Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO. It is at an altitude of 1179 meters with an estimated population of 68,208 inhabitants (as of 2004).

The registration fee for conference participants includes the following: reception & banquet; lunch; transportation from the International Airport Tancredo Neves/Confins in Belo Horizonte to Ouro Preto (July 6th) and from Ouro Preto back to the airport (July 11th); transportation from the conference hotel to Ouro Preto town center and back in the evenings.

NOTE: If you are a conference participant that will not need the transportation service from the International Airport in Belo Horizonte to Ouro Preto and back, you will be able to indicate that when registering and get a U$ 50.00 (or R$ 85.00) discount.
